Claims and Dispute Resolution

Certified in Construction Mediation and in Organizational Conflict Resolution by the State of Washington Mediation Association, Rich uses a unique Win Win Model to help parties, counsel and consultants move beyond “us v. them” to build an effective problem solving team to resolve claims and other disputes effectively in a manner respectful of the project. We use other construction experts, if needed. We have achieved substantial success:

• The Los Angeles District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and a contractor resolved several conflicts on a $360,000,000 project in 1.5 days

• The International Boundary and Water Commission and a contractor resolved conflicts in quality and pricing in 4 hours

Project Intervention

Rich helps teams in conflict resolve project disputes in a constructive and respectful manner and then establish effective communications and problem solving structures to keep the project “on track.” Other construction experts are used, as needed. We have achieved substantial success:

• The Seattle District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and a contractor resolved numerous conflicts on a $19,000,000.00 U. S. Air Force Base housing project in 2 days;
• Conflicts within project teams on a Navy environmental construction project at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and a Navy environmental monitoring project in Alaska were each resolved in 1 day.
